Two of the elevators in the Needle can travel 800 feet per minute! To get from the bottom to the top of the Needle using the elevator, it would only take about 43 seconds! The original name for the Space Needle was "The Space Cage." The restaurant inside the space needle is called "SkyCity restaurant, and is 500 feet above ground. The city of Fifi, in Washington offered $1 million dollars to move the Space Needle to downtown.
